K: A hot favourite on the menu, the Baby Back Fiery Ribs (half rack). I like this way more than Cafe Cartel's version. The meat was tender and came off the bones easily. The sauce is good and not overly sweet. Wedges was crispy even after turning cold. The portions were generous, look at the size of those wedges! (larger than my thumb). So do take note in case you over order!
K's verdict: 4/5
Ratings:
Ambience: Level 2 overlooks the Singapore River and Asian Civilisation Museum. The ambience is cozy and unaffected by noise from level 1 (the bar) plus they have wonderful choice in music. However, it can get slightly cold, so do remember to bring your jackets.
Value: Slightly steep but its a good choice for a affordable birthday treat.
Service: Good. The staffs are attentive and remembered who ordered what dish. They even sang the Birthday song to the birthday girl in our group. Awesome online support, staff replies to email promptly and answered our questions patiently.
Overall comments: A gem in Boat Quay. Its set menu changes monthly too. I don't mind going occasionally to indulge myself with their set menus. However, I think they still have to work on their desserts. Remember to make reservations or risk having your dinner at the bar!

K: This place came to mind when the holy question was mentioned today. I love the chill out ambience of this place, which was unsurprising given it's location in LaSalle.
I had the Salmon dish with wasabi potato salad and cherry tomatoes (last picture). The fish was fresh, lightly seasoned and well cooked. The wasabi taste in the potato salad wasn't as overwhelming as I though it would, it actually turned out pretty nice! My only gripe was the cherry tomatoes, perhaps because I am not a tomato lover, it was too sour for me.
K's verdict: 3.5/5
Ratings:
Ambience: Quiet and chill out vibe. You have a choice between classic canteen benches or comfy sofa seats. They even have a stage for live performance.
Value: I didn't pay for the meal but I remember the price was pretty reasonable.
Service: Service was average. Nothing particularly outstanding but I noted that it took awhile to get the staff's attention when we called for the bill.
Overall comment: This place seems really promising. Maybe I'd come back and try out their alcohol and tapas next time when I'm in the area.

K: Chocolate wassant from Provence bakery thanks to my dear friend. What I like about this is that its fragrant (yum chocolaty smell) without being overwhelming sweet. The wassant will remain soft even days later. However its best eaten straight out of the oven! Warm, soft and fluffy with the subtle taste of chocolate. Simply divine.
Having ate this a dozen times, I must say that I'm slighty disappointed with this batch. It lacked the chocolate flavour and was drier than usual. The Ion branch seems to be very popular and I think this might have affected the usually consistent quality.
I might return and grab another pack of these wonderful babies if I'm in the vicinity but I think I would prefer the wassant from Holland Village branch anytime.
K's Verdict: 3.5/5
R: The chocolate wassant is definitely one of the biggest highlight of the Japanese bakery. I agree with K on the softness and tenderness even after putting aside for days. However, I thought it was a little on the expensive side.
R's Verdict: 3.5/5

R: There are many stalls that claim to be the best Wanton Mee with blah blah years of experience. But do they live up to the name? R will try to unravel the secrets (P.S. according to my personal preference and taste) as I'm a huge fan of fried wanton and will explore the different wanton mee stalls in Singapore as we carry on our foodie journey...
Since I work around Tanjong Pagar area, which is famous for lots of different kinds of food, I decided to take a stroll to Amoy Street Market one fine day for lunch.
The good:-
- Very crispy wanton (though with pathetic filling)
- noodle is not so bad as well, a little Q.
- various kinds of base for your mee (ketchup, sesame sauce, soup and even plain?)
The Bad:-
- seems to me that almost all wanton mee stalls nowadays tend to cut down on their meat fillings, this stall for example, could win an award for the smallest and most meatless wanton mee ever!
- soup is so-so, a little bland even..
Price: $3.00 | Verdict: 2.5 / 5 (Don't get fooled by their signboard, just like I did -.-")

Chocolate Chip Muffin $1.10
K: The muffin was dense, buttery and fragrant despite having eaten it hours after baking. I love the crusty top with a generous amount of chocolate rice but felt that the chocolate bits inside was too sweet for me. Good news for the sweet tooth though.
Banana Walnut Muffin $1.10
K: Soft, moist and fluffy on the inside. I didn't taste any walnut though, this should be called Banana muffin instead.
K's verdict: 3.5/5
K's verdict: 3.5/5
K: The chocolate chip muffin is not bad but I felt that the Banana walnut muffin was just average. Prices are reasonable but I will not join the long Q just for these muffins unless I'm really craving for them. I will not mind getting a few if the Q is short though.
K's verdict: 2.5/5
